Ensuring the safety of the food supply chain is a high priority here at Cash-Wa Distributing.
Our food safety program is integrated company wide. Heidi Wietjes, MS, RD, LMNT, LD is our food safety coordinator. She is a ServSafe Instructor through the National Restaurant Association. In addition, she is Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certified by the International HACCP Alliance and has completed the Food Defense Coordinator class offered by the American Institute of Baking.
Cash-Wa Distributing has a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) program in each warehouse.
In the event of a product recall, Cash-Wa Distributing works with the product manufacturer and government agencies to remove the product from the market place. If you have purchased a product from Cash-Wa Distributing that has been recalled by the manufacturer, you will be contacted by Cash-Wa Distributing with recall details.
Cash-Wa Distributing’s warehouses are regularly inspected by the USDA, FDA, and state and local health inspectors. In addition, Cash-Wa Distributing consistently scores high on warehouse food safety audits conducted by the American Institute of Baking (AIB).
These audits review all areas of food safety including:
- Methods & Personnel Practices
- Facility Maintenance
- Cleaning Practices
- Pest Management
- Overall Adequacy of the program including record keeping, policies & procedures, training, and self-inspections.
Cash-Wa Distributing offers ServSafe training to customer groups requiring food safety certification. ServSafe is nationally recognized food safety training and certification offered by the National Restaurant Association.
